Memorandum of Understanding in the GlueX Collaboration

All collaborating institutions in the GlueX experiment are required to have a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the institution, the GlueX Collaboration and Jefferson Lab. These Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) outline the activities and responsibilities of the GlueX collaborating institutions within the Jefferson Lab (JLab) GlueX experiment. They describe the commitments of all three parties to the successful completion of the GlueX experiment and are subject to regular review and updating by all three parties. The manpower commitment and deliverables described in these documents are contingent on continued funding of the individual groups.

These MOUs do not constitute a contractual obligation on the part of any collaborating GlueX institution or JLab. No contractual obligations shall arise except pursuant to appropriate written authorizations by each party. All foregoing work is subject to the appropriate written contractual agreement of the parties.

Rules for establishing these MOUs are described in the Collaboraton Management Plan. Membership in the GlueX collaboration is contingent upon the existence of an MOU that is acceptable to all relevant parties.
