PID Kinematic Fit Page

Matt Bellis has implemented a kinematic fit which looks at the output of HDFast. Initially he examined the reaction:

--> + - + - p
and did a kinematic fit assuming all possible assignments of K and . The results show that the only one with finite probability of being right is the correct combination. At least in this reaction, there appears to be no ambigious regions. The following plots shows the confidence level and pulls from this fit, which show that the fitter is doing what it is supposed to be doing.

We have followed this up by generating several reactions involving kaons, and run the various kinematic fitting hypotheses.
--> X(1800,2400) p --> K*K* -->K+K- + - p
